Smith Completes Project

Mrs. Myrtle J. Smith, daughter of Mrs. Lucille Williamson and the late Alexander Williamson of Emmett, has just completed an Arkansas State Recognition Grant Project for Primary Children in grades 2-3 in the curriculum area of language arts.

Mrs. Smith is a primary special needs teacher at Louisa E. Perritt Primary School in Arkadelphia.

The title of her grant was `An Integrative Approach to the Study of Career Awareness: Focus, Community Based Instruction, Enhancing Cultural and Social Growth of at Risk Special Needs Children.'

The grant amount was $1,000. The grant involved survival skills, career awareness concepts, clothing, nutrition, hygiene and community based instruction.
