Two Arested In Drug RaidBY JOHN MILLERPublished Wednesday, July 2, 1997 in the Nevada County Picayune Two local men were arrested on drug charges, Tuesday, June 24, by the Nevada County Sheriff's Office. According to Sheriff Steve Otwell, the NCSO, working in conjunction with the Prescott Police Department and 8th Judicial Drug Task Force, arrested Dennis "Boo" Maxwell, 33, of Prescott, and Wayne Mills, 41, also of Prescott. Maxwell was charged with manufacture of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver. Mills was charged with possession of a controlled substance, namely marijuana, resisting arrest and second degree battery on a police officer. Otwell thanked PPD Chief Willie Latin, the PPD and the Task Force for their help in making these arrests. "This," he said, "is an example of effective law enforcement we can have if we all work together." Otwell said this raid was the result of an ongoing investigation.
