Frances Wingfield LuckPublished Wednesday, July 9, 1997 in the Gurdon TimesFrances Jean Wingfield Luck, 71, of Arkadelphia died Tuesday, July 1, 1997, at her home. She was born February 22, 1926, in Okolona, the daughter of the late James Burt and Eva Lois Hammons Wingfield. She was a mother, grandmother and a businesswoman, and an Arkadelphia Baptist Hospice and Red Cross volunteer. She was a member of the American Needlepoint Guild and was widely recognized for expertise in needlepoint. She enjoyed gardening, flower arranging and bridge. Mrs. Luck received a BS degree at Texas Christian University. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her husband, Dr. H.D. Luck; two daughters, Rebecca Scheier of Acton, Mass., and Jennifer Medford of Brinkley; one brother, Jim Wingfield of Prescott; and six grandchildren. Graveside services were Thursday, July 3, at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Arkadelphia with Rev. Jerry Westmoreland officiating. Interment was under the direction Murry-Ruggles Funeral Home of Arkadelphia. Memorials may be made to Arkadelphia Baptist Hospice.
