Mom's in Touch first international Arkansas state rally with the founder, Fern Nichols, will be September 9 in Little Rock. HR WIDTH=50%> A representative of the Texarkana Social Security office will be at the Nevada County Courthouse on Thursday, August 26, and September 23. Supplemental Security Income (SSI) pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. Monthly checks can be paid to disabled and blind checks. To find out if you are eligible, call 1- 800-772-1213. Registration is ongoing for the fall classes at the University of Arkansas Community College in Hope. Fall classes begin August 26. Schedules are available through student services. Nevada County farmers are selling their produce at the Farmer's Market each week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. until sold out at the Prescott City Park. If you are a Nevada County farmer with produce to sell, contact the Extension office at 887-2818 or Mary Godwin at 887-2101 for additional information concerning this opportunity to market your goods. The 1999 Nevada County Fair books are now available. Fair books have been placed throughout the county for your convenience, or they can be picked up at the county extension office. The Nevada County Fair is August 31 through September 4. Check-in times have changed this year, so be sure to pick up your copy of the fair book as soon as possible. On Sunday, August 22, White Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate homecoming. There will also be a dedication ceremony of the new steeple which was erected in honor of Richard Arnold. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. with preaching by Bro. Dennis Wilson. Lunch will be served. All family and friends are invited. Angela Carlton of Rosston is proud to announce the birth of her son, Matthew Gage, on Thursday, August 5, 1999, at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia. Matthew weighed eight pounds and 12 ounces. He was 21 inches long. Grandparents are Rick and Kathy Dillard of Rosston. Big brother Tyler Carlton welcomed him home. Petie and Laura Ward are proud to announce the birth of their son, Jarrod Wayne, on Sunday, August 8, 1999, at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia. Jarrod weighed nine pounds and four ounces and was 21 inches long. Grandparents are Kay and Gordon Rodgers of Sarepta, La., Pete and Gundy Ward of Bodcaw and great grandparents, Winnie and Ellis Bailey of Willisville. Big brother P.J. welcomed him home. The Prescott Middle School PTP is selling Prescott Curley Cubs and Prescott Curley Wolves t-shirts and sweatshirts as a fund-raiser. The t-shirts are $10 and the sweatshirts are $15. She weighed eight pounds and 9 ounces and was 20 inches long. Grandparents are Gerald and Jean Reed of Salesville; Roy L. Gierth of Prescott; and Edna and Wayne Laird of Gurdon. Big sister, Ashley, welcomed her home. Shea Hughes and Fred Hopson of Prescott are proud to announce the birth of their son, Adrian Roshawn Hopson, on Monday, August 9, 1999, at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia. He weighed seven pounds and 11+ ounces and was 19, inches long. Grandparents are Eddie Hughes of Prescott and Hadi Hopson of Atlanta, Ga. Big brother and sister, Jacob Hughes-Gourley and Megan Hughes, welcomed him home. Andre and Carol Stacy of Prescott proudly announce the birth of their second child, Bryan Andrew. He was born at 12:37 p.m. on Thursday, July 15, 1999, at St. Michael's Hospital in Texarkana. He weighed nine pounds and was 20 inches long. Two-year old Brent is enjoying his new brother. Grandparents are Rev. and Mrs. David Stedman of Prescott and Rev. and Mrs. Larry Stacy of Camden. The Nevada County Fair Queen contestants will host the August Chamber of Commerce coffee on Tuesday, August 31, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. This will be the kick-off event for the 63rd annual Nevada County Fair. The coffee will be held at the Nevada County Fairgrounds in the Potlatch building. Everyone is invited to attend. Tony and Tonya Inscore proudly announce the arrival of their first child, Michael Christopher Inscore, born Wednesday, August 11, 1999, at Medical Park Hospital in Hope. Michael weighed seven pounds and he was 20+ inches long. Equally proud grandparents are Rex and Sandra Hildebrand of Prescott and Wally and Roberta Inscore of Emmet.
