J.B. HuffmasterPublished Wednesday, July 9, 1997 in the Nevada County PicayuneBro. J.B. Huffmaster, 77, of Waldo died Friday, July 4, 1997, at his home. He was born December 8, 1919, in Elm Springs. He was a Southern Baptist minister for over 60 years, pastoring churches in Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Texas and California. He was instrumental in remodeling or building at nearly every church. Besides pastoring he farmed or worked construction during all of these years. Married for 58 years to Sara Francill Haynes, Bro. Huffmaster retired 8 years ago to Willisville, where he built their retirement home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hal and Rettie Huffmaster, his brothers, William and Martin Huffmaster, and two sisters, Ruby Burton and Mable Burton. Surviors include his wife, Sara Francille Huffmaster of Waldo; three sons, J.B. Huffmaster of Paragould, Richard B. Huffmaster of Lonoke, and Frederick W. Huffmaster of Waldo; one daughter, Deborah Farrell of Willow Springs, Ill.; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were Sunday, July 6, at Lewis Chapel with Bro. L.B. Jordan officiating. Burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home of Magnolia. Active pallbearers were Jack, Jeff, Andy, Terry and Jason Huffmaster and Jerimyah Mabou. Honorary pallbearers were Blake and Jared Huffmaster, Brad O'Connor, Rod and Tom Beasley, and Bill Bradshaw.
