Donate Old Vehicles To Foundatation

Published Wednesday, July 9, 1997 in the Nevada County Picayune

Lose 2,000 pounds for the summer by donating your unwanted car, boat or truck to the National Kidney Foundation of Arkansas and help thousands of Arkansans suffering from kidney disease through the Kidney Care Cars Program.

Free towing, possible tax deduction, and community beautification are just a few of the benefits Care Cars offers to the donor and the community. The donated vehicles are then either parted out or resold at a wholesale auction. Through the recycling effort of the foundation's Care Cars Program material which would otherwise be earmarked for a landfill re-enters a cycle of use.

Arkansas kidney patients benefit from funding provided by the program in a variety of ways. The Foundation applies funds from Care Cars to patient services, research, and public education. Some of the patient services offered include: new patient/family orientation and support groups, summer camping programs for children with kidney disease, and a patient emergency programm.

The National Kidney Cars Program is "America's number one Choice for Donating Cars." If you are interested in donating to Care Cars, all that is required is a signed title to the vehicle and a phone call. Please join in the drive to take kidney disease from treatment to cure.
