Pageant Is Near

Talent, intelligence and beauty will dominate the 19th Annual Miss Tri-State Teen Scholarship Pageant, Saturday, July 12, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in Harton Auditorium, Southern Arkansas University, Magnolia. Lory Hall, 1996 winner and the reigning Miss Magnolia, will be official hostess for the pageant, along with 1994 Miss Arkansas Beth Ann Rankin serving as Mistress of Ceremonies. All former winners are invited to attend. Shawn Arrington, Texarkana, the first winner in 1979, will serve as head judge. Other winners include Angel Harris, Christi Taunton, Mandy Kirby, Lynn Thompson (Magnolia), Dana Powell, Ginger Allgood, Melinda Peterson, Christi Freel, Tara Thompson (Magnolia), Jessica Rasberry (Magnolia), Keisha Gray, Anna Marie Carroll, Julia Jones, Ashley Grayson, Ashley DeWoody, and Elizabeth Crain.

Special entertainers include Josh Kee, Beth Anne Rankin, Lory Hall, Stacy Hildebrand, Tara Kuykendall, Gavin Barnett, Bill Brown and Rod Mays.

The winner will receive a scholarship to attend Southern Arkansas University. James R. Staggs is director and Penny Talley is assistant director. The public is invited to attend the 6:30 p.m. performance.
