Fair Pageant Meeting Is Set For This Sunday

A sign-up meeting for the Nevada County Fair pageants has been scheduled for Sunday, July 13, at 2 p.m. at the fairgrounds.

Entry forms will be available for girls ages 0-21 years and boys ages 12 months-3 years who are residents of Nevada County. The pageants will be held during the events of the fair on Thursday, September 18, and Saturday, September 20.

All contestants will compete in formal attire on stage and in the photogenic competition. Girls in Teen Miss (ages 14-15) will also compete in private interview and on-stage sportswear, while girls in the Fair Queen division (ages 16-21) will also compete in private interview, on stage sportswear and swimwear.

Many other changes have been made to this year's pageants. A new optional composite photogenic category has been added.

To also add to the excitement of competition, there is a contest to see which entrant can sell the most program ads, which will be available during both nights of the pageants.

Anyone interested is welcome to attend the meeting.
