Prescott Man Nabbed For Alleged Theft At Residential FacilityPublished Wednesday, July 16, 1997 in the Nevada County PicayuneA disturbance in Bluff City resulted in two men being arrested Thursday, July 10. According to Jim Westmoreland, criminal investigator for the Nevada County Sheriff's Office and Prescott Police Department, between 10 and 10:30 p.m. Thursday, two men got involved in a disturbance, leading to an altercation, resulting in both being arrested and one going to the hospital. Sylvester Holliman, of Bluff City, was reportedly hit in the head with a 2 by 2 stake by Leotis Sims, also of Bluff City. Holliman's injuries were serious enough that he was placed in the intensive care unit at Medical Park Hospital. However, he was released and is being held in the Nevada County jail pending charges. Sims, on the other hand, is being held and is expected to be charged with second degree battery. THEFT PROBED A resident of the Split Rail Residential Care Facility is in custody at the Nevada County jail, where he is being held on probable cause determination. According to Westmoreland, Charles Oliver, 32, was arrested Thursday, July 10, around 10:45 a.m. by Prescott Police Chief Willie Latin, officer Kristi Hillery and deputy Thomas Goad. Oliver allegedly broke into a desk drawer at the facility and took some money used for making change. Other possible charges against Oliver include breaking or entering (for the desk drawer), theft of property and third degree battery (for striking another resident and a worker at the Split Rail).
