BodcawAline ClausPublished Wednesday, August 18, 1999 in the Nevada County Picayune Happy birthday to Christina Wilson, Jewel Poindexter, Wanda Poindexter, Ural Poindexter, Christie Butler, Colin Cockran, Brittney Fry and David Butler. J.D. and Marie Allen made a trip to Camden to see his nieces and their families on Sunday. Van Matthews has returned from Bosnia. He and his family came for a visit with his parents, Chuck and Mickey Matthews. Barry and his family from Jacksonville also visited. They tried to visit their daughter by phone in California, but she was away from home and missed the call. Van and family returned to Wright Patterson Base in Dayton, Ohio. We had a one year birthday party for Wesley. Phyllis, Brandi and Wesley of Little Rock; David, Peggy and Cody Butler of Blevins; Chris, Jennifer and McKenzie Walton; Todd Butler, Dexter and Earlene and I attended. It was Earlene's birthday, too. We had a lot of visitors in church Sunday. Dr. and Mrs. Darren Hamm and little ones from Texas; Jarrod and Jennifer Hatfield; Kinney and Malissa Oliver and Chris, Jennifer and McKenzie Walton. Welcome back. I got a call from Santa on Sunday morning saying he and Joyce were coming for the day. They came from Mesquite and took me out for lunch, visited a while and returned home. It was good to see them. Russ Carlton sang at the Watermelon Festival. There were crowds in attendance. A wedding of Shane Frasier and Misty Sampson was Saturday at 2 p.m. at Bodcaw No. 1 Church. We wish you much happiness. Morris and Carolyn Vines, Ruby Vines and Morine Butler spent the weekend in Dallas with relatives. Norris Daniels returned home on Friday from a month's visit with her daughter, Ted and Joyce Purtle of Round Rock, Texas. She had a good visit. The Daniels families had a get-together in Corinth Church fellowship hall. Around 50 attended. Tammy Daniels catered the meal. The Ken Williamses celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary with a reception in Bodcaw Baptist fellowship hall. The Union Baptist Bible school program was on Sunday night.
