Published Wednesday, July 23, 1997 in the Nevada County Picayune

Holly and Mike Ross, owners of Holly's Health Mart in Prescott, have announced plans to build and relocate on Highway 67 North between Fred's Dollar Store and the planned St. Michael Health Care Center.

"Although we do not anticipate our new facility to be completed until late this year," Holly Ross said, "we thought it was important to announce our plans and explain why we have decided to make the move."

"Although we've been a pharmacy since the business was founded in 1911 as Guthrie Drug and later known as Jim's Discount Pharmacy, we've expanded our business over the last few years to meet the needs of our community," she continued.

She said the present store is only 22 feet wide. Holly's, in addition to being a drug store is a supplier of home medical, oxygen and respiratory equipment, with a professionally trained staff. Its gift department includes includes a bridal registry. "Simply put, we've outgrown our present building," she said.

"Our new location will provide plenty of convenient parking and include an drive-through window," Holly, who is the pharmacist, said.

The store will be located in close proximity to St. Michael Health Care Center, Dr. Vermont, Dr. Young, Prescott Rural Health Clinic and the Nevada County Health Unit.

"Our plans include providing extended store hours, a private consultation area, wider aisles, a more complete selection of health and beauty aids, a medical equipment showroom and a larger gift department," Mrs. Ross said.

"We will continue to provide the same services, which include free prescrption delivery within the Prescott city limits and pharmacists and home medical equipment staff on call 24 hours a day," she said.

"A lot of good things are presently happening in Prescott and Nevada County," Mike Ross said. "I believe our community has a bright future. This investment represents the commitment Holly and I have to this community and its people. We are excited about growing to meet your needs."

Holly's Health Mart will remain at its present location until the new building is completed later this year.
