It's school time again. Be careful when driving. A bus might be stopped over the next hill.

Oleta Nelson spent a few days in the Camden Hospital recently, but was home and feeling some better at last report.

Jeanie and I spent four days last week in Missouri visiting her folks. While there, we did some research on a branch of the McKelvy family who once lived in that area. We got a lot of information from the library and then visited the old cemeteries where they were buried. A man who owns the land where one cemetery is took us on a tour of his 150-year-old home which was filled with antiques of every description. Even though these were distant relatives, we were excited to discover another part of our family history.

We noticed on this trip that many of the crops were suffering from the extreme heat, especially if they were not being irrigated. Hopefully, we will get more rain before long. It was not quite as hot in Missouri. We enjoyed sitting under the shade of the sugar maple trees late in the evening without having to battle fire ants.

Our thought this week is from Ralph Waldo Emerson: "Make the most of yourself, for that is all there is of you."
