Thomas Is Awarded ScholarshipPublished Wednesday, July 23, 1997 in the Nevada County PicayuneFreda Shavon Thomas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Thomas, has been awarded the Jewell Minnis Endowment Scholarship for Exceptional Academic Performance. She has also received the Charmett Civic and Social Club Scholarship, along with a band scholarship, to attend the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Thomas is a 1997 honor graduate and was selected as an outstanding senior at Prescott High School. She was a member of the band for four years, National Honor Society, Choral Club, Prescott Fire Community Choir, voted senior maid-at-large of homecoming '97 and a member of the homecoming court for three years, Future Business Leaders of America, Future Homemakers of America and a member of the Spanish Club.
