FAMILY PROBLEMSPublished Wednesday, August 18, 1999 in the Nevada County PicayuneA dispute over a dentists bill let to a confrontation between a father and stepfather recently. According to Sorrells, Robert Rayl, 32, of Texas, brought his son back home to his mother, who lives in Waldo. At this time, the mother, Laura Cathy, 30, presented him with some bills from a dentist visit. Rayl complained reportedly saying he was supposed to be notified before the boy went in for any medical treatment. Rayl allegedly raised his voice, which apparently irritated Cathy's current husband, Danny, 29. He went out of the house and struck Rayl through the open window of his vehicle. Rayl then, reports state, spun out slinging gravel all over the place. Gravel reportedly hit the house and Mrs. Cathy. Rayl was charged with criminal mischief, while D. Cathy was charged with battery in the third degree. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
