Juanita Ward Taylor

Juanita Ward Taylor, 74, of Prescott died Thursday, August 7, 1997, in Texarkana at the St. Michael Health Care Center.

She was born in Prescott October 27, 1922.

Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker and a teacher. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and a member of Alma Eagle Sunday School Class. Mrs. Taylor was a 50-year member of the order of the Eastern Star, a member of Benjamin Culp Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Upsilon Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, Nevada County Retired Teachers Association, Nevada County Depot Museum, and DeAnn Cemetery Association. She was past president of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Survivors include a son, William Ward Taylor of Prescott; three daughters, Wanda Taylor Purtle of Minden, La., Bobbie Taylor Fuller of Prescott and Nancy Taylor Cherry of Texarkana, Ark.; a brother, William Curtis Ward of Texarkana, Texas; six grandchildren, Wendy Purtle, Scott Fuller, Rhonda Beavers, Heather Purtle, and Megan Taylor and Madeline Taylor; two great granchildren, Josie Beavers, Bethanie Fuller; two great aunts; three sons-in-law, Homer Purtle of Minden, La., Richard Fuller of Prescott and Doug Cherry of Texarkana; a daughter-in-law, Karen Taylor of Prescott; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services were Sunday, August 10, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Lenderman officiating. Burial was in DeAnn Cemetery under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home of Prescott.
