Dogwoods Are Offered

Published Wednesday, August 13, 1997 in the Gurdon Times

Ten free white flowering dogwood trees will be given to each person who joins The National Arbor Day Foundation during August 1997.

The free trees are part of the nonprofit Foundation's trees for America Campaign.

"The white flowering dogwoods will add year-around beauty to your home and neighborhood," John Rosenow, the Foundation's president, said. "Dogwoods have showy spring flowers, scarlet autumn foliage, and red berries which attract songbirds all winter."

The trees will be shipped postpaid at the right time for planting between October 1 and December 10 with enclosed planting instructions. The six to twelve inch trees are guaranteed to grow or they will be replaced free of charge.

Members also receive a subscription to the Foundation's colorful bimothly publication, Arbor Day, which includes regular features about tree planting and care.

To become a member of the Foundation and to receive the free trees, send a $10 membership contribution to Ten Dogwoods, National Arbor Day Foundation, 100 Arbor Avenue, Nebraska City, NE 68410, by August 31, 1997.
