Plasek Attends Photo Training

Published Wednesday, August 27, 1997 in the Gurdon Times

Gurdon Police Officer Frank Plasek attended a Polaroid Law Enforcement Camera Training session August 21 in Little Rock at the Criminal Justice Institute (CJI).

As a part of the training, the Gurdon Police Department received a free Polaroid Spectra Law Enforcement Camera kit valued at $299.95. The kits were funded through a Violence Against Women Act grant applied for and obtained by the Criminal Justice Institute.

In order for the CJI to receive the camera kits at a reduced price and as part of Polaroid's commitment to the utilization of its cameras in domestic violence cases, training on the effective usage of the camera was mandatory. Polaroids representatives conducted a hands-on training session to ensure each participant has the knowledge and skills for proper operation of the camera.

An agency representative must have attended the training session in order for the agency to obtain one of the cameras.

The kit will also be used to take pictures of fingerprints, tatoos, suspects, crime scenes, etc.

At the end of the session along with the camera, Officer Plasek received a certificate on completion of the course.
