Economic Conference Planned

Dr. Steve Franks, director of the Arkansas Department of Workforce Education, and Dr. David Wyss, research director of DRI/McGraw-Hill, will be featured at the 1997 economic conference to be held at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia.

The conference will be held Thursday, September 18.

The conference will also feature Dr. John Shelnutt and Dr. Nick Karlson of the Institute for Economic Advancement at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. They will present their outlook for the Arkansas economy.

At the conference Dr. Wyss will present his national economic forecast and Dr. Franks will be the luncheon speaker.

According to Dr. David Rankin, SAU's dean of the School of Business, "This is an excellent opportunity for are citizens to participate in a top-notch economic conference here in south Arkansas. It is truly a don't miss for anyone who wants to expand their knowledge of current economic developments and forecasts."

The registration fee for the conference is $50, which includes a continental breakfast and luncheon. The conference begins at 8:30 on the morning of Sept. 18 in the Business/Agri-Business Building on the SAU campus.
