Rosston Man Is Busted In GurdonBY JOHN MILLERPublished Wednesday, August 27, 1997 in the Nevada County Picayune By JOHN MILLER Members of the Gurdon Police Department made yet another drug arrest recently. According to GPD reports, Jewell Muldrow, 46, of Rosston was arrested by the GPD around 5:15 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15. Muldrow's vehicle, a 1989 Chevrolet Caprice, was stopped by City Marshal David Childres and officer Chris Harper on Highway 67 South, while being assisted by Sgt. Don Childres and officer Tony Pruitt, along with a Clark County Sheriff's Deputy. Muldrow, according to Marshal Childres, had been under investigation for allegedly selling drugs in the Gurdon area and at Petit Jean Poultry. The suspect pulled into the Jif-E-Mart convenience store before stopping for officers. Childres got permission from Muldrow to search the vehicle and found a brown paper bag in the trunk containing about four ounces of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana. Muldrow was placed under arrest and had his person searches. Officers found a plastic bag of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana in his pants pocket, along with two pieces of paper with names and amounts of money people reportedly owed the suspect. He was taken to the Clark County jail and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. According to reports, the suspect has a lengthy "rap" sheet of former arrests for similar charges. Childres said in Arkansas possession of more than an ounce of marijuana is a felony.
