Golden OldiesDoris VancePublished Wednesday, August 18, 1999 in the Gurdon Times My daughter and I took a trip to Missouri last week, where we were able to see some of our family that we had not seen for some time. The previous week of August 2-6 at the center, bingo was played bingo, as were word games. We also viewed a film on osteoarthritis and enjoyed the songs of Rev. Glen Shults, pastor of New Caney Baptist Church. August 9-13, the center hosted Nutrition Week with guest Dr. Barbara Holt of the Clark County Extension Cooperative Service providing information catering to the needs of the elderly. On Tuesday, August 10, the Musicmakers group sang for the residents of Twin Rivers Health and Rehab Center, who seemed to enjoy the songs as they sang along. National Park Medical Center offered blood pressure and blood sugar testing for the seniors on Thursday. The monthly council meeting is scheduled for August 17. The seniors enjoyed their dine- out night on Tuesday, also. This week the seniors are looking forward to special music and would love to have you join us.
