Shawn Worthey McCullyPublished Wednesday, September 3, 1997 in the Gurdon TimesShawn Worthey McCully, 22, of Blanchard, La., formerly of Hope, died Saturday, August 30, 1997, of cancer. He was born February 4, 1975, in Hope. he was a member of First Baptist Church of Blanchard. Survivors include his father and stepmother, Mike and Vicki Worthey of Blanchard; his mother, Pam Merritt Block of Phoenix, Ariz.; his stepfather, Sam McCully of Kansas City, Mo.; two borthers, Charles Franklin Worthey of Texarkana, Ark., and Michael Jacob Worthey of Blanchard; two sisters, Karen Lee McCully of Independence, Mo., and Ashley Nicole Worthey of Texarkana; paternal grandparents, Frank and Peggy Worthey of De Queen; maternal grandparents, Paul and Carolan McCabe of Kansas City; great grandparents, LuVegie Brown of Emmet and Robert and Jean Watson of Hope; and his girlfriend, April Burmley of Blanchard. Services were Monday, September 1, at Holly Grove United Methodist Church at Blevins with Dr. James Hill officiating. Burial was in Holly Grove Cemetery at Blevins. Arrangements were by Brazzel-Oakcrest Chapel Funeral Home of Hope. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Hospice Managed Care, Regional Office at 1-800-856-4307.
