Bobby Joe SwayzePublished Wednesday, September 10, 1997 in the Gurdon TimesBobby Joe Swayze, 59, of Arkadelphia died Wednesday, September 3, 1997, at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science. He was born August 8, 1938, in Little Rock, the son of James and Winnie Ross Swayze. He was a woodcutter and a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Anderson Swayze; two sons, Joe and Gary Swayze, both of Gurdon; three daughters, Charlotte Hodges of Caddo Valley, Carlotte Rogers of Gentry and Laura Howard of Texas; his father, James Swayze of Malvern; two brothers, Jimmy and Hays Swayze, both of Malvern; one sister, Charlene Lewis of Alabama; 11 children and one great grandchild. Graveside services were Saturday, September 6, at Rest Haven Cemetery in Malvern with Ronnie Cody officiating. Interment will be under the direction of Murry-Ruggles Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.
