Timberfest Set For Sheridan

The 14th annual Timberfest will be held in Sheridan October 2, 3 and 4.

This annual festival celebrates the importance of the timber industry in Grant County.

The three-day event features the Horizon Bank Arkansas State lumberjack championship from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, October 4. Top professional lumberjacks from surrounding states compete for cash prizes as they display their skill and strength in events, such as log chopping, crosscut sawing and axe throwing.

The festival also includes the Timberfest Beauty Pageant at 6 p.m. Thursday, October 2, with special guest 1997 Miss Arkansas Stacey Freeman.

Other events include an arts and crafts show, hot air balloon rides, a parade, horseshoe tournament, 5k run, golf tournament, Dutch oven cookoff and much more.

Aplications are currently being accepted for arts and crafts vendors. All types of arts and crafts are invited to participate.
