Cleoler HopsonPublished Wednesday, September 10, 1997 in the Nevada County PicayuneCleoler Patrie Vanaz McNeely Y. Hopson, 73, died, Saturday, August 23, 1997. She was educated in Nevada County and received her bachelor of science degree from AM&N College (now the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff) in Pine Bluff. She received her master of science degree from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia. She was a devoted elementary school teacher for 32 years nad taught in several southwest Arkansas school systems before retiring from the Oak Grove Public Schools in Rosston. She was married to James T. Yarbrough. Four children were born, one preceded her in death at birth. She was later married to O.D. Hopson who preceded her in death. She was later married to John B. Smith. Survivors include two sons, James T. Yarbrough Jr. of Lake View Terrace, Calif., Danny Louis Yarbrough of Pacoima, Calif.; one daughter, Sandra L. Reaves of Rowlett, Texas: three brothers, Charles McNeely of Flint, Mich., and Percy McNeely and Curtis McNeely of Chidester; four sisters, Luella Criswell of Chicago, Ill., Murtis Green of Camden, Amelia Allen of Texarkana and Dimmie Walker of Malvern; five grandchildren; one great grandchild. Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 26, at Antioch Baptist Church in Stephens with Rev. John Strickland and Bro. Richard Zackery officiating.
