Russ Takes Top Flight In Annual Championship

The Prescott Country Club championship golf flights were held Saturday and Sunday, August 30 and 31.

The championship flight winners were Chandler Russ in first place with a score of 142; Jim Franks, second with a 147, Jim McKenzie, third with a 151, (he was also the winner of the senior division); Mike Cottingham, fourth with 154; Vince Grimes, fifth with 155; Glen Childres, sixth with 156; Lee Muldoon, seventh 157; Everett Jones and Ricky Reddin, eighth (tie) with 158; Wayne Glass, ninth with 160; Gary McCauley, 10th with 161; and eleventh place was Johnny McGuirt with a score of 167.

First flight winners were: Gary Chamblis, first with 160 strokes; Zack Meadors, second with 160; Jim Arnett, third with 161; Jackie Harvey, fourth with 162; David Arterbury, fifth with 164; Dick Hayes, sixth with 165; Terry Lasiter and Johnny Yancy, seventh (tie) with 168; Blake McKinnon and Richard Snell, eighth (tie) with 170; and Cory Marbury and Steven Bell, ninth (tie) with 173.

Second flight winners were: Don Atkins, first place with a 166; Randy Grimes, second with 166 strokes; Marty Reyenga, third with 167; Tom Wilson, fourth with 168; Jim Hardee, fifth with 170; Alex Gordon, sixth with 171; Chuck Smith, seventh, 173; Richard Davis, eighth, 175; Steve Neymeyers, ninth, 176; Rodney Gurris, 10th, 180; and Bud Hunter, 11th, 181.

Third flight winners were: Jim Gober, first with 173 strokes; Herb Hinton, second, 177; Jeff Gober, third, 178; Shane Meador, fourth, 179; Robert Loe, Keith Massey and Jim Honea, fifth (tie) 181; William Camp, sixth, 182; Toby Cottingham, seventh, 184; Bruce Baker, eighth, 186; Spot Daniel, ninth, 187; Ricky Reyenga, 10th, 191 and Jerry Brzeski finished 11th with a score of 194.

Fourth flight winners were: Rob Hill, first place with a score of 180; Bill Virden, second, 187; Dennis Burke, third 188; Danny Glass, fourth 191; Johnny Wake, fifth, 193; Jerry Dean May, sixth 194; John Brannan, seventh, 195; Bob McCrary, eighth, 207; Bruce Guthrie, ninth, 209; Joe Vansickle, 10th, 213; Clint Godwin, 11th, 224; Tim Rainwaiter, 12th, 223; and finishing last was Ricky Ragsdale with a score of 228.
