Leone R. Birdsong

Leone R. `Momma Bird' Birdsong, 80, of Prescott died Wednesday, September 10, 1997.

Mrs. Birdsong was born August 3, 1917, in Centerville, Ala., to Joseph Clayton and Bessie Nichols Richey. She was a retired factory worker and a former desk clerk at Split Rail Restaurant. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Prescott. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Birdsong and one grandson, Timmy Birdsong.

Survivors include two sons, Tommy W. Birdsong and Ed Birdsong of Prescott; one daughter, Helen M. Mullins of Prescott; one brother, James C. Richey of Prescott; four sisters, Lila Lee of Dallas, Texas, Lotie Beasley of Redwater, Texas, and Fay Harris and Maxine Freeman of Prescott; one very special friend, Julie Stockton; eight grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were Friday, September 12, at Central Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Mitchell officiating. Burial followed in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Prescott. Arrangements under the direction of Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.
