Published Wednesday, September 17, 1997 in the Nevada County Picayune

Pageant festivities will get underway Thursday and Saturday nights at 6 o'clock.

The pageants are being done in conjunction with the Nevada County Fair.

Patsy Ledbetter, pageant director, and Traci Ellis, co-director, invite everyone to attend the pageants.

Thursday evening will see the infant miss, baby miss, tiny miss, tiny mister and little mister pageants held. The climax of the pageant will be the crowing of Little Miss Nevada County. She will represent the county at the Southwest Arkansas District Livestock Show and Rodeo pageant in Hope Sept. 23.

Saturday, Sept. 20, though, the petite miss, young miss, junior miss, teen miss and Nevada County Fair Queen will be crowned.

The fair queen will also advance to the SWAR pageant in Hope, as well as being the county's representative to the Arkansas State Fair in Little Rock in October.

Should the Nevada County queen win at Hope, the first runner up will represent the county at the state fair.

Ledbetter said there have been new things added to this year's pageants in hope of adding more excitement to the fair.
