59 Hogs Entered In Swine Show

In the Clark County Fair Market Swine Show held on Wednesday, there were 59 entries.

Clark County is recognized around the state for its outstanding market hog projects, according to Ron Matlock, staff chairman of the Clark County Extension Service.

The grand champion hot was shown by Paul McMillan with reserve honors going to Marcus Crawley.

In the swine showmanship competition where junior exhibitors are judged on their ability to replace their animal and present their animal to the judge, Ashley Webb was selected as the champion junior show person and Jacob Harrington took senior honor.

In the market lamb show also held on Wednesday evening, Jordan Haltom's blue lamb took top honors with Kellie McKinnon's lamb the runner up. Jordan also took the junior level lamb showmanship honors while Marcus Crawley impressed the judge for senior showmanship.

The champion diary goat was Trey Burchfield's wether and his senior doe was the reserve champion.

In the junior 4-H pullet project, Jordan Haltom with her pen of four Leghorn pullets own grand champion honors, while Justin Gibson's pullets were the reserve champions.
