Frances Bidwell has returned home after spending three weeks with her daughter Nell McDaniel in Louisiana. Kristi Ridling has returned to her home in Louisiana after spending several weeks with her dad, Bill, and Donna Ridling. Shane and Amanda Meador from Glenwood attended church at Shady Grove and had lunch with his parents, Sid and Sandy Meador, on Sunday. Congratulations to Brad and Cindy Barham upon the arrival of a baby boy, named Raymond Bradley. The late J.W. Barham would be the great grandfather. Our sympathy is extended to the family of Roy Brown. He passed away in a Texarkana hospital after a lengthy illness. Harvey Taylor visits his mother, Lucy Taylor, almost daily at Hillcrest Care and Rehab. He also visits his mother-in-law, Minnie Moore. Many of you will remember Jo Nell McDonald. Her husband, Al Jones, passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 22. He was buried at Missionary Grove on Thursday, August 26. Her mother, the late Josie McDonald, and my daddy, the late Jesse Griffin, were brother and sister. Darren Neal has returned home after being on special assignment with the state police in northern Arkansas. Twenty-four youths and sponsors from Shady Grove attended early morning services at DeGray Lake on Sunday morning. Tommy Ghormley and Casey Hendrix from Little Rock visited their parents, Junior and Kay Hendrix and Linda and Paul Ghormley, and grandparents, Wilma and Cline Compton, over the weekend. Arlene Crank and daughter and husband and Linda and John Jackson from Springhill, La., recently visited their cousin, Cline and Wilma Compton. Jay Wilmoth from Benton visited Cline and Wilma Compton last week. Congratulations to Keith and Veronica Mauldin. They have a new 9-pound 11-ounce baby girl.
