Shore Clean-Up Set At DeGray

Anyone who cares about public lands, including scout groups, school groups, employee groups, fishing and scuba clubs and church groups are invited to come out for the 21st annual DeGray Lake shoreline clean-Up.

Saturday, September 25, with registration from 8-9 a.m., volunteers may pick up trash bags and receive area assignments at the spillway area.

There will be free lunches and drawing for door prizes for all volunteers from noon until 2:00 p.m. at the Highway 7 area pavilion. Food and door prizes will be donated by local merchants.

Aluminum cans will be recycled and purchased by the Coca-Cola Bottling Company.

Awards will be presented for first, second and third places to groups collecting the most plastic litter items.

All trash is to be bagged and placed at the recreation area entrances or brought to Highway 7 area pavilion for proper disposal.
