Foy C. TatePublished Wednesday, September 24, 1997 in the Nevada County PicayuneFoy C. Tate, 92, of Magnolia died Thursday, September 18, 1997, at his home. Mr. Tate was born on March 4, 1905, in Bowen to Henry Franklin and Mittie (Springer) Tate. A school teacher for 37 years, he was retired from Magnolia School District. He was a member of Asbury Methodist Church and Retired Teachers Association. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Vera Tate, and a brother, Guy Tate. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Robert O'Dell of Magnolia; a brother, Cecil Tate of Malvern; three sisters, Clydalee Brook of Delight, Marie Tye of Texarkana and Jean Luce of Tyler, Texas; two grandsons, Gary O'Dell and Mike O'Dell; one grandaughter, Dorinda Watson of Hot Springs; three great grandchildren, two step great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services were Sunday, September 21, at Asbury Methodist Church with Rev. Don Nicholson officating. Burial was in Marlbrook Cemetery between Prescott and Blevins.
