Free Hunting, Fishing NowPublished Wednesday, September 24, 1997 in the Nevada County PicayuneThe free hunting and fishing weekend begins at noon on Friday, September 26, and ends at midnight on Sunday, September 28. Residents and non residents may hunt or fish during these times without a license. DeGray Lake Resort State Park will be hosting a free fishing derby on Saturday, September 27, to celebrate the weekend. Fishing times will be from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will stock a pond on the golf course with 300 punds of catchable channel catfish. Bring your own bait and tackle. There will be a few prize drawings for the children. There is no age restrictions, so the entire family can enjoy the outing.
