In the lone contested school board race in Nevada County, the incumbent lost.

This race was in zone 4 in the Nevada School District between Don Callicott and Davis Benton. Callicott managed to win the election with a 67-54 margin of victory, in the election held Tuesday, Sept. 16.

He replaces the only member of the Nevada School Board who was there since the district's inception 10 years ago.

In Prescott's zone 5, Rick McGough was the only contestant, garnering 23 votes.

For the County Board, Bobby Caudle had 10 votes as the only candidate.

Each district had a standard millage tax on the ballot, but none were seeking additional millage hikes.

In the Prescott district, the tax passed 30-4, while in the Nevada district the vote was 56 favoring the tax and 59 against. However, because the vote went against the tax really means nothing as the vote for it is a formality.

Emmet's vote on the millage tax was 20-3 in favor.
