Watson WardPublished Wednesday, October 1, 1997 in the Nevada County PicayuneWatson Ward, 86, of Prescott died September 17, 1997, in Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. Mr. Ward was born February 21, 1911. He was preceded in death by his parents, James L. and Mattie Zorah Vaughn Ward, six brothers, Dennis, Phillip, Curtis, Roy, Sid and Ollie, three sisters, Ethel Pye, Agnes White and Eve Nichols, and his wife, Winnie Dale Ursery Ward, (1956). His father was school director for northern Nevada County. A lifetime resident of Nevada and Hempstead counties, Mr. Ward was a retired dairy, beef and poultry farmer. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Ward of Prescott; one son and daughter-in-law, Dale T. and Ruth Ward of Prescott; one daughter and son-in-law, Bobbie and Jim Miner of Prescott; four grandchildren, Kit Miner, Kaye Roser and Ned and Nicky Ward; seven great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were Saturday, September 20, at First United Methodist Church in Prescott with Revs. Jim Lenderman and Jerry Westmoreland officiating.
