J.D. McKamiePublished Wednesday, October 15, 1997 in the Nevada County PicayuneJ.D. McKamie, 66, of Hope died Saturday, October 11, 1997, at his home. Mr. McKamie was born March 21, 1931, in Hot Springs. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Bobo and Bain Construction Company. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lee Gipson, in 1976 and by a son, Randal D. McKamie, in 1962. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Paul Edens of Hensley; two sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas and Pat McKamie of Hope and Kenneth Dean and Sheila McKamie of Ft. Smith; one stepson, Jimmy Baker of Prescott; four stepdaughters, Connie McKamie and Gayle Fowler both of Prescott, Diane Green of Denton, Texas, and Elaine Kidd of Hope; two brothers, Ralph McKamie of Laneburg and Bobby McKamie of Hope; two sisters, Elouise `Mutt' Maxie of Texarkana and Francis Jones; six grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. Funeral services were Wednesday, October 15, at the Herndon Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Oliver McKamie officiating.
