William R. StovallPublished Wednesday, October 15, 1997 in the Nevada County PicayuneWilliam R. Stovall, 62, of Prescott died Tuesday, October 7, 1997, at his home. Mr. Stovall was born May 5, 1935, in Nevada County. He was a retired police chief with the Prescott Police Department, having served 30 years. He was a member of Midway United Methodist Church of Prescott. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Stovall of Prescott; two sons and their wives, David and Mary Ann Stovall of Prescott and Allen and Krista Stovall of Hope; one brother, Rufus Stovall of Prescott; one sister, Betty Thaxton of Prescott; and four grandchildren. Funeral services were Thursday, October 9, at Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott with Rev. Neil Ridling and Rev. Jerry Westmoreland officiating. Burial was in Deann Cemetery in Prescott.
