Helping Hands EHC

The Bluff City Helping Hands Extension Homemakers Club met August 12 for the regular meeting with eight members present.

Marguerite Tomlin, president, called the meeting to order.

Laverne Green, secretary, called the roll. Everyone answered with "What I forgot to pack." It seems we all have at one time or another forgotten something.

Officers were elected for the coming year. They are Marguerite Tomlin, president; Laverne Green, secretary; Ruth Sullivan, treasurer; Vernell Loe, reporter; and Linda Carman, vice president.

It is fair time again. The club hopes someone will have something to enter. The dry weather has taken care many crops.

A reminder is given to everyone to remember to give blood; the supply is low.

Laverne Green gave a lesson on crock pot cooking. It was very good.

We can save a lot of time by cooking in crock pots and have good delicious foods.

Everyone enjoyed potluck after the club adjourned. Laverne Green served barbecue cooked in a crock pot.

Drinks were served by Laverne Green and Vernell Loe, hostesses.
