Help Offered For Debris Abatement

Assistance is available for the removal of any debris that remains from the March 1 tornadoes in Nevada County.

The President signed a supplement appropriations which provided funds for the Emergency Watershed Protection (EWP) Program adiministered by the USDA, Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS).

The funds are for the disposal of remaining debris that is not eligible for assistance under other federal programs. The debris can be removed form urban lots and acreage, cropland, pastureland, forestland, etc. This program is not for repair or restoration.

The federal cost share rate is 75 percent. Debris clean up methods must be the most cost effective method that will provide immediate, adequate and safe releif from any threats.
