Meador Participates In SAU Internship Program

Fall Interns: Twelve students are participating in the business intern program this fall at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia. Participants include (l-r) front row: Priya Thapa from Nepal, Minna Green from Magnolia, Talesa Tatom of Magnolia; second row, Jason Bradshaw of Camden, John Cottrell of El Dorado, James Nixon of El Dorado, Tim Anderson of Magnolia, and Shane Meador of Prescott.

The School of Business at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia saw its internship program expand into new cities and states during the fall semester with 11 interns participating in the program.

The students who are participating in the program are:

From Magnolia, Kelly Crenshaw, a financial planning major, who completed a three-month summer internship with American Express Financial Advisors of Shreveport, La.; Jan Switzer, a computer information systems major, who is working wiht Albermarle Corporation; Minna Green, a finance major, is interning at First National Bank of Magnolia; Talesa Tatom, a finance major, who is interning with Century 21; and Tim Anderson, a management major, who completed an internship with the DeSota Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

From Camden, Jason Bradshaw, an agriculture business major, who completed a summer intern with Tyson's in Nashville; and Ken Crumpler, a marketing-management major who is working in an internship with Woods Restaurant, in Camden.

From Prescott, Shane Meador, an agriculture business major who is interning at the Bank of Prescott.

From El Dorado, John Cottrell, a CIS major, who is interning at First National Bank of Magnolia; and James Nixon, a management major, who is interning at Del-Tin Fiber.

From Little Rock, Terry Watts a CIS major, who completed a summer internship with First National Bank of Magnolia.

From Nepal, Priya Thapa, a marketing major, who is interning at Farmers Bank and Trust of Magnolia.

According to Gayle White, internship director, the students in the program have reported many positive aspects of their internship experiences, including development of better interpersonal skills with co-workers and customers development of contacts with area business people. They had an oportunity for exposure to all areas of their particular disciplines.
