We have really been enjoying the cooler weather, although we hear remarks such as "I am freezing", or "It's too cold to come to school" (can you believe that?"). Of course Mrs. Roe always has cold hands and she is usually the first to notice a change in temperature.

We are sure happy to have Mrs. Davies back with us. It was a long recovery time, but now that she is back it's back to work with excitement I cannot describe. We really appreciate Mr. Wilson for filling in for her, as he really did a great job and we hope he want forget about us and will come back for a visit.

Thanks is extended to all of our substitute teachers. We depend on you, although you don't hear from us until we need you. You are very important to us and we thank you!

Those 8th graders have been reciting "The midnight Ride of Paul Revere". Mrs. Clingan was really proud, as all of her students recited the poem. Several students put it to music and really put on a show.

Chain links, (strips of red construction paper) are being sold for 10 cents each, as names of the purchaser is written on each link. Thursday the chain will be stretched out and see what name is on the link that breaks. The name on the link wins a prize. Several businesses in town have given prizes, as we break the chain in several places. This is part of the Red Ribbon Week, when we emphasize Say No To Drugs.

We fail to say thank yo so many times we ask you to forgive us. to our merchants, we do appreciate all that you do for us and your help in making our school more enjoyable in so many ways.

Debbie Daniels, school nurse, has completed the hearing and vision testing of the students. Debbie is on the job. It doesn't matter what kind of injury or illness she has been called to attend to, she is alwasy "cool, calm and collective" as the saying goes. Thanks Debbie!

Mrs. Clark's student teacher for the nine weeks, Mrs. Hughes, left us Wednesday. A BIG party was given for her, as the students expressed how much they enjoyed having her as part of their learning experiences. Now, Mrs. Clark has to get back to work! (Boo Hoo)

We really enjoying the Red Ribbon Week activitieis. Friday we will have a costume contest and Matt Moseler of channel 7 will be a judge. The assembly will be at 10:30 Friday, and you are invited to attend. Three from each home room will be selected with the best costumes and from those one from each grade will be chosen and one from the four to be named the worse, scarcest, best, funniest, ect. costume of the year. We are looking forward to Matt's visit.

The Student Council will give a prize to the class that wear the most red from Monday through Thursday. Wear Red.

Another great Pep Rally was enjoyed Thursday. We think it can't get any better, but somehow Mrs. Green has her squad put on a performance that the "Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders'" could learn a lesson or two. Mr. Wimberly's Band really helps to get the gym to rocking.

You probably already know that we never have a dull moment around CMS, as we are constantly busy making those Classy Moments.
