John J. WellsPublished Wednesday, November 5, 1997 in the Gurdon TimesJohn J. Wells departed this life on Sunday, November 2, 1997 at this home at the age of 64. He was a member of the Center Grove Methodist Church , a Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a retired employee of the City of Gurdon's Street Department. Survivors include his wife, Annie; two sons, Bobby and daughter-in- law Judy Wells, Tab Wells; a daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Steve Baird all of Gurdon; a brother, Carl Wells of Arkadelphia; three sisters, Nancy Rutherford of Arkadelphia, Louise Presson of Prescott and Betty Ledbetter of Gurdon; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 4 in Center Groave Methodist Church with interment in the Center Ridge Cemetery. Horne Funeral Home of Gurdon was in charge of arrangements. Pallbears were Tommy Eckert, Gary Plyler, John Paul Dickerson, James West, Steve Baird and Joe Eckert. Officiating minsiters were Brother Keith Dodson and Brother Bill Read.
