J.W. Brown Jr.Published Wednesday, November 5, 1997 in the Nevada County PicayuneJ.W. Brown Jr., 80. of Sweetwater, Texas. died Sunday, October 5, 1997. in Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital. Mr. Brown was born September 7, 1917. in Emmet. He was a retired oil field contractor, owning and operating J.W. Brown Oil Field Construction Company. He was a member of Lamar Street Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Hazel Brown; a son, Donald Ray Brown of Kansas City, Mo.; four daughters, Shirley Keyes of Brownwood, Texas, Peggy Lofton of Sweetwater, Texas, Nancy Ball of Ketchikan, Alaska, and Dorothy Burwick of Brownwood, Texas; three sisters, Lillie Mae Windham of Granbury, Texas, and Marie Collins and Edith Wilson, both of Midland, Texas; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Tuesday in Cate-Spencer and Trent Funeral Chapel with Rev. Keith Clifton and Rev. Orvel Brantley officiating. Burial was in Garden of Memories.
