Ercell Ruth Wilson

Ercell Ruth Wilson, 89, of Prescott, formerly of Warren, died Friday, August 20, 1999, at Hillcrest Care and Rehab in Prescott.

Mrs. Wilson was born August 28, 1909, in Bradley County, a daughter of the late John Fred and Mattie Baker Stuart. She was the retired co-owner of Wilson Grocery and a member of First United Methodist Church of Prescott. She married Joseph Morris Wilson in August 1928; he passed away November 18, 1980. She was also preceded in death by a son, Joseph Morris Wilson II.

Survivors include a son, Al Wilson of Prescott; one brother, Dub Stuart of Muskogee, Okla.; two sisters, Dot Caplinger of Hermitage and Una Stansbury of Temple, Texas; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, August 22, at Frazer's Funeral Home in Warren with Rev. Jim Lenderman officiating. Janice Sullivan was organist and Dr. Kerry Pennington soloist. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Frazer's Funeral Home in Warren. Active pallbearers were Matthew Pennington, Everett Orren, John Henry Harrison, Larry Cox, Dr. Kerry Pennington and Charles Small. Honorary pallbearers were George Stansberry, Fred Greenwood, Ted Greenwood, Jim Stuart, Gale Stuart and Joe Alan Wilson.
