Military NewsPublished Wednesday, November 12, 1997 in the Gurdon TimesMarine Lance Cpl. John C. Bullard, son of Henry D. and Linda D. Bullard of 803 Clark Street, Gurdon, recently completed the M1A1 Tank Systems Technician Course at the U.S. Army Ordance Center School, Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Md. During the six-week course, Bullard received instruction on maintenance, troubleshooting and interpreting electrical and hydraulic diagrams. Bulard also studied cleaning, replacing, and adjusting tank turrent and gun systems. As a tank system technician, Bullard performs maintenance on the M1A1 Abrams main battle tank turret's mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems and components. As a graduate of the Tank Systems Technician Course, Bullard demonstrates his tremendous ability to excel in a fighting force of more than 160,000 men and women. Whether assigned to ships, squadrons or shore commands around the world, men and women like Bullard are making a difference as they work to improve their knowledge and skill as part of the most highly technical naval force in history.
