OBU Sets Holiday PlansPublished Wednesday, November 12, 1997 in the Gurdon TimesIn a tradition of the upcoming Christmas season, a group of students and faculty at Ouachita Baptist University have been putting the final touches on a community holiday concert for the general public to be presented Friday, December 5, and Saturday, December 6, at 7:30 p.m. in OBU's Jones Performing Arts Center. The Division of Music and Department of Theatre Arts of the Bernice Young Jones School of Fine Arts will present for its sixth consecutive year its ever-popular Festival of Christmas program. The program consists of a wide variety of sacred and secular Christmas music, including the traditional favorites. According to Dr. Charles Wright, the Friday night audience is composed of mostly citizens of the Arkadelphia region and Saturday night tends to be the peak night for out-of-town visitors. Admission to the program is free on both dates, but seating is assigned on a reserved basis. In order to obtain the free tickets, call 870-245-5129.
