4-H Club Meets At City HallPublished Wednesday, November 12, 1997 in the Gurdon TimesThe Terre Noire 4-H Club met November 3 in the Gurdon Municipal Building. The meeting was brought to order by Trey Burchfield, president. Pledges were led and the club answered roll call by stating their favorite Halloween activity. There were two guests, Jonathan Gonzales and Derek Buck. The club voted for the December meeting to clean up the Towering Pines hiking trail at DeGray Lake. Fantastic Snacks, a program developed by Barbara Holt, was presented. 4-H members learned how to choose healthy snacks. The Food Guide Pyramid was used to demonstrate which foods to choose the most during a day. The 4-H'ers used a flannel board to place foods on the correct step of the pyramid. A video was viewed that explains different healthy snacks. The Terre Noire 4-H Club meets on the first Monday of each month at 3:30 at the Gurdon Municipal Building.
