4-H Seeking Members

Clark County 4-H is looking for individuals who are interested in

joining 4-H and participating in the Wildlife Habitat I.D. Team.

The 4-H Wildlife Habitat I.D. Team is designed to teach youth about the fundamentals of wildlife manatement. Although it is a competitive event, its primary function is educational.

The Clark County Extension Service is also seeking members for the Clark County 4-H Puppet Troop. In this area, the Extension service is looking for those who will assister 4-H members in the troop as well as members who are interested in learning puppetry.

The Clark County Puppet Troop has performed many skits and

entertained and educated many groups of children and adults.

There are several members currently involved, but a few more are needed to round out the membership. The Extension service has received a grant and it is now in the process of updating some materials.

If you are interested in assisting as an adult or joining the troop

as a member, you should contact the Extension service.

Natural resources management is learned through participation in

the contest and the associated programs. Additional benefits come from the development of leadership capabilities and meeting youth and

professionals from other areas who are interested in wildlife habitat.

In this program, youth will learn that management for wildlife menas

management of wildlife habitat and providing for the needs of wildlife.

The youth will learn wildlife habitat management concepts in both urban and rural settings and to prepare participants for judging events.

This group will have a workshop January 31 to kick off the study season. A state specialist from the Extension service will come from Little Rock to conduct the workshop.

4-H is the youth development program of the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service. If you are interested in joining a club or helping a club, call 246-2281.
