November Is National Home Health Month

November is nationally pro-claimed Home Health an Hospice Month.

This annual celebration gives area Home Health Agencies an oppor-tunity to present long term treat-ment options to local citizens.

All ages and economic levels are concerrned about high-quality, affordable, long term health care.

Home care provides a wide range of services to the ill, elderly, disabled and recovering in their own homes. Surveys show most people prefer to receive medical care in their own homes, and that there is a significant and growing body of evidence that those persons recover more quickly and more fully.

Home care allows many to remain in surrondings that are familiar and comfortable, often strengthening extended families. Care can be as simple as assistance with personal hygiene or as complex as ventilator

dependency.

Prescott is well served by four capable agencies: Alliance Home Health Agency, Arkansas Depart-ment of Health, Columbia Home Care and Southwest Arkansas Development Council Home Health Agency.

These agenceis strive to contain health care costs by providing prac-tical health related services that are comfortable, cost-effective, high quality, individualized and the least restricitve.

Area physicians utilize home care to assist them in various cases and maintain control of their patents. Home care is the oldest and most enduring tradition of health service delivery in the United States.
