Home Health Aides Are HonoredPublished Wednesday, November 19, 1997 in the Nevada County PicayuneHome Health Aide Appreciation Day presented the perfect op-portunity for SWADC Home Health Agency to recognize five outstanding employees for devotion, tenure, performance and loyalty to their agency and their patients. These persons are devoted to assisting disabled, ill, elderly, or recovering patients to stay safely in their own homes. In Nevada County SWADC pro-vides personal care services to qualifying citizens. Personal care is prescribed by a physician, designed by the physician, a registered nurse and the patient. The care is provided by a trained nurse aide, and supervised by a registered nurse. Care plans may include, bathing, grooming, eating, do-mestics, laundry and shopping. Care may be billed privately, to insurance, Medicaid or other programs, such as Arkansas Department of Human Services, Elderchoices. Anyone with concern for their own health, a neighbor, friend or loved one may make a referral. SWADC is a non-profit, com-munity action agency designed at allieviating poverty in a 12-county Southwest Arkansas area. The staff is dedicated to meeting needs and assuring citizens find the right resources to improve their quality of life.
