From GMS

The eight graders can breath a sigh of relief as they have completed the Explorer Test. After almost three hours of testing, they were ready to call it a day.

The GMS Student Council pro-vided the Dalton, Louisee, and Family program for the students Wednesday. Several times the stu-dents seemed to be holding their breaths as the performance was so daring. A 16-year-old performed on rings 16 feet above the floor, and then lifted herself up to 20 feet, and with a strap around her neck, began twisting at such speed it was just scary to be honest about it.

Seeing Dalton balance on seven cylinders while sitting on a unicycle received loud applause from the students. It was a tense 45-minute performance.

Emphasis was stressed on how important it is to stay in school, although a ten-year-old with the team is home schooled while they are performing on the road.

The Student Council is working with the Gurdon Times for a food drive to help provide needy families in Gurdon with the needed food to help make their holidays happier. If you would like to help with this, please drop can goods off at the Gurdon Times office, or take them to Mrs. Clingan's classroom.

The colder weather is making hot chocolate a treat at lunch break. Students can purchase a cup from the Student Council. It really seems to be a popular item.

Plans are being made for an assembly December 19. At the end of the day we will be dismissed for Christmas break. The assembly will feature more talent from the students, as well as a surprise or two. It will began at 9:00 a.m. You are invited to attend.

We are so busy trying to get everything taken care of before the holidays, but keep us on the list of concern as we continue to make Classy Moments at GMS.
